UPDATE - March 19th
“Every three minutes in the UK, someone develops dementia – and all too often, families struggle to know where to turn and are left feeling exhausted, overwhelmed and alone. Because if you love someone living with dementia, you’re living with it too.”
With your help my fundraising is doing really well - we're over £3,000 now! Thank you!! With 4 weeks to go to marathon day - I still think we can get to £4,000.
Another 20 mile training run this morning - going quite slow at the end. Not sure if I'll be running the last 6 miles on the day - might have to hop instead!!
UPDATE - March 12th
Well done everybody! We've just reached 100% of target!!
Does this mean I can stop training and not do the run?
Of course not, so hopefully we can continue fundraising too
Let's set a new target === Can we get to £4,000???
UPDATE - March 5th.
Did you know - in the time it will take me to run the Manchester marathon, over 100 people will be diagnosed with Dementia??
I did a 20 mile training run today - a popular view is that 20 miles is about half way on a marathon!!
I am over half way on sponsorship. If you have already sponsored me - Thank You! I still need a bit more help - please!
By 2025, it’s estimated that over one million people in the UK will have a diagnosis of dementia – and almost all of us will know someone living with the condition.
Dementia UK – the specialist dementia nurse charity, provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia.
Sadly, Dementia UK receive no government funding - it is up to us to give them the much needed funds they require to provide their service.
