Marathon du Mont Saint-Michel · 26 May 2019

Our mission is to enhance the lives of people with learning disabilities by providing funding to various organisations, services and individuals for respite, holidays, training and other forms of care. Our primary mission is to help people with learning disabilities train for meaningful employment, giving them a sense of purpose, direction and belonging in their local community.

Story

We have always wanted to run a marathon to support The Goed Life and the incredible work they do for people with learning disabilities so when we came across this epic event in Mont Saint-Michel we were quick to sign up!

Known for its ferocious offshore headwinds and iconic island Cathedral we hope to make it to the finish line before the infamous tide rushes in and sweeps us back across the channel!

This will be our first marathon and we have been pounding the roads of South London for 14 weeks in preparation for the big day.

The Goed Life is a cause that is very close to our hearts as Sam, Ned's brother, has Down's Syndrome inspiring Ned and his mother to set up the charity in 2017.

The charity strives to provide equal opportunities to people with learning disabilities in work, though training and work placements, as well as support in daily life through respite and care. We have seen, first hand, the incredible transformation of Sam from starting work in a local Cafe and are running to help The Goed Life continue this work across the community!

We would massively appreciate any donations to help push us over the finish line and to support this amazing charity!

Loads of love,

Ned & Phoebe X
