7 x 7 = 91.7*

This summer, I will take to the streets of London to raise money for Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, an organisation that helps fulfil the wishes of children with a critical illness between the ages of 2¹⁄₂ and 18 years old across the UK.

*I will be running 7 (SEVEN) half-marathons in 7 (SEVEN) days, between 26th July and 1st August 2021, a total of 91.7 miles! The final 13.1 miles on August 1st will be part of my entry to this year's London Landmarks Half Marathon. 

In March 2020, Make-A-Wish UK had 2,000 critically ill children waiting for a wish. Imagine for a minute that you are one of those children. Amongst all the challenges you face, there is something to look forward to. Something that you’ve created. Something that’s just for you. Then, just before it is about to happen, it’s taken away from you. You don’t know what’s going to happen next and you don’t know whether you have the time to wait.

In the face of this, never have the qualities of creativity, resilience and adaptability that these children demonstrate been more apparent. Over the past 12 months more than 600 of these children have changed their wish. Every single one of those wishes was changed by the child.
