I'm taking part in the VSO - Accenture Kerala Challenge Event from February 16 - 19, 2011 to raise money for a Voluntary Service Overseas project " Action for change in Jharkhand ". Participating in this event gives me an opportunity to raise funds for a project aimed at creating livelihood opportunities for women from the tribal communities in Jharkhand.

This project will

-  Train over 1,000 women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds on animal husbandry, bio farming mechanisms, leadership and marketing skills

- Enhance livelihood opportunities for over 10,000 women by effective use of technology and access to the National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme

- Strengthen capacity of existing self help groups through organizing 10 training programs on management, book keeping and bank linkages

My minimum fundraising target is INR 23,000 (approx 350 pounds). You can contribute any amount for this cause.

You can donate online using the link on this page using a credit or debit card. All donations are secure and sent electronically to Voluntary Service Overseas. It shows up in British pounds but goes to VSO India. Alternatively you can send me a cheque (in my name) and I will combine all donations that come in this way and make one cheque out to VSO India.
