Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

When Nehemiah was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 3years old  it felt like my whole world had come crashing down. Our lives were not the same as our friends and we wasn’t able to attend any social gatherings. People told us that he would grow out of it and didn’t understand what we were going through. We were tired and worn out with little hope that Nehemiah would be able to access social activities like his peers. By chance a parent asked me if I had heard about CASPA. When I took Nehemiah to visit CASPA social club at the age of 8yrs old I couldn’t believe I hadn’t know about it sooner! I’d never been somewhere that nothing was too challenging  for the staff and they understood exactly what we were going through.

CASPAs have helped Nehemiah develop social skills, access activities I never believed he would be able to, provided respite, taught him life skills and provided support to Philip and I and given advice when we needed it.

We now have 2 boys 12yrs and 4yrs old with Autism and it makes it that little bit easier knowing that there are charities like CASPA to provide us with the support we need.

Thank you CASPA!
