Edinburgh London Edinburgh · 7 August 2022 to 12 August 2022 ·

Our aim is to develop, enhance and promote the rescue capabilities of firefighters and emergency services personnel to ultimately reduce unintentional injuries and deaths that can result from fires, RTC's and other emergencies alongside an educational programme in fire and road safety.

Story

On the 7th of August 2022 Adrian and Neil will set off on the 5 (well maybe 6) day, 1500km adventure that is LEL. We have been doing silly rides all year to get to this stage and have to say a huge thank you to long suffering families who have given up countless weekends so we can ride our bikes!

This is a bit of a daunting task that will probably be more mental than physical so we decided that it would really help to know that we were raising some money for a cause that we both love in the process.

Scottish Emergency Rescue Association (SERA) https://www.sera.scot

Our friends at SERA are a group of volunteers who's purpose is to empower and equip emergency services in countries like Ukraine, Moldova, Romania and Serbia with crucial life saving equipment and training. They recycle second hand fire equipment and donate this to overseas fire services alongside professional training.

They have just returned from Ukraine for the 2nd time in 2022 delivering 3 more fire appliances and a lorry load of equipment that will all go straight into helping in the most dangerous circumstances.

This means driving non stop for days across Europe and honestly puts our bike ride into perspective! But we do like the parallel, so if our journey can help fund more journeys like the one above then it will just be that little bit more worthwhile.

Any help you can offer to help us reach our target of £1500 (a pound for every km pedalled) would be completely amazing and very much appreciated by us both!

Thanks a lot!

Neil + Adrian
