December this year will mark ten years since my Mum, Ruth Allen, passed away from breast cancer. During the final months of her life, I took up running. Like Forrest Gump, running was a coping mechanism during that time. I've carried on running ever since, taking part in 2021's London Marathon and Norfolk's Mammoth Marathon this year.

My Mum always loved cats and I have fond memories of all family cats. My chosen charity, Venture Farm Cat Rescue, was chosen to celebrate something that Mum loved in her life. If my mum were still here, no doubt she would bake one of her famous cakes to raise money for them. As my talent lies in running, I think I will stick to that!
