Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.
Over the years I've done a few marathons, triathlons and endurance based events. People have often asked me "Do you do these things for charity?" until now the answer has always been, "No, just for a bit of a personal challenge"
In more recent years however, I've learnt more about other personal challenges, challenges that affect mental health. One thing that helps me deal with anxiety, stress and bouts of depression is getting outside and doing some exercise.
So to raise money and awareness for MIND the mental health charity, I plan on exercising everyday continuously for three months.
I'm planning on doing this based loosely on the Olympic triathlon format.
A typical Olympic distance triathlon consists of:
a 1500m swim
a 40km bike ride
and a 10km run
I've split these three disciplines up and put them into the last three months of 2019, therefore:
For the month of October, I plan to swim 1500m everyday.
For the month of November, I plan to cycle 40km everyday.
For the month of December, I plan to run 10km everyday.
So that'll be 92 days of continuous exercise covering 1556 kilometres with no days off, not even for my birthday, Christmas day or New Year's Eve.
I'll no doubt be posting updates of progress, pain levels and logistical nightmares via my Twitter page here, plus there's also the Strava application where all of my daily activities will be logged.
Donating through JustGiving is easy and secure. I'd be blessed if you can contribute anything, no matter how small you donation may be. Plus there's also the option to remain anonymous and that's absolutely fine too.
Mental Health is something I really care about so let's get some cash together to help people who really need it.
Peace and love. x
