8 years ago 2 Wirral angling clubs (Wirral Borough AC & Rivacre AC) held an angling match competing for a small trophy and raising funds for Claire House Children’s Hospice.

Soon after it became a three way challenge with Egremont Ferry AC joining the competition. Over 4 years, the annual event managed to raise over £14,000.

In 2016 the event became even bigger thanks to the efforts of Colin Cook  - with even more local clubs competing and with the support of local tackle shops, local fisheries and local press the total raised exceeded £14,000 in this one year alone.

The event is being held again this year on Sunday 1st November across 5 local fisheries with the hope being that the total raised will continue to grow.

Claire House Children’s Hospice helps seriously & terminally ill children live life to the full, creating wonderful memories & bringing back a sense of normality to family life. Through specialist nursing & emotional support Claire House helps families smile when life couldn’t get any tougher.
