The Three Spires Challenge · 8 July 2018

Ollie Young Foundation is a UK charity funding research into brain tumours in children. Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children. By directly funding paediatric brain tumour research, we are able to pursue our ultimate aim of finding a cure or prevention from this awful disease.

Story

Jean Call (recently retired from the University of Reading) introduced me to this excellent charity. It funds targeted paediatric brain tumour research and support.

The Three Spires Challenge is an Oxfordshire based half marathon. As the name suggests, it is a bit of challenge. Plenty of hills, water, rocks, MOD secret bases (shhh), sheep, horses, cows, and dogs. O - and last year, the heat was intense

I will be the first runner to attempt the challenge BARE FOOT. I have been training A LOT (don't attempt anything like this without serious support!!!).  I'm confident. I have run the route a number of times barefoot.  Even the stones up the wonderfully named Snakeshill have ceased to slow me down (that much...)

If you can support me, even with a £1 or £2, it would be hugely appreciated. And if anyone wants to come down and support me on the day, we will all be going to Banbury for a highly unhealthy pizza to celebrate after the race is done....
