Story

It’s been 10 years since I lost my Mother to sepsis, a life threatening condition that kills more people than heart disease in the UK each year. Sadly it receives a fraction of the press, donations and awareness it needs. Running the Marathon and raising money for the Sepsis Trust is my small contribution to helping the fight against sepsis, whilst paying tribute and remembering my amazing Mother. My memories will drive me forward.

If you are able to see your way to donating, please don’t forget to add a time estimate as to how long you think it’ll take me in the comment box (I promise not to be offended), the closest guess will receive a bottle of champagne for their efforts!

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
