Story

30 years ago I met my wife at school, her close friend Paul O'Gorman had just lost his short battle with Leukaemia then the O'Gorman family lost their daughter Jean 9 months later. My wife got to meet Princess Diana who was patron of the newly formed charity Children with Cancer UK in honour of both Paul and Jean. Looking on the web site you can see my wife Tracy meeting Princess Diana at the opening of the memorial garden at Mill Hill County High School.

18 months ago I was a fat, overweight mess well I didn't think so but many other family and friends knew I needed to do something quick. Tracy was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes so she had to change her life style in order to combat the diabetes.

Weighing 21 stone 8lbs this was the time to change my life for the better. 18 months down the road I've lost a staggering 6 stone along with Tracy losing 4 stone and being given the all clear after looking after herself. 10 stone between us we found running was helping our weight loss. August 2017 we completed our first 10k run which went very well, I know I can do more so here we are running the London Marathon 2018 for a fantastic cause which means so much to us both.

Tracy's father has been very ill so what more fitting way to give something back to those who need our help.

I'm so focused to complete this, so many family, friends, work colleagues have helped my preparation, for those who have run marathons will know what effort is needed to train and then complete.

So here we are, please please help my charity try to battle this awful disease that ruins lives.

Thank you for reading, bless you all

Neil (Buzz)
