Nordoff and Robbins is the UK’s largest music therapy charity, with a unique approach shaped by more than 60 years of practice. Through the power of music, it breaks through the barriers caused by life-limiting illness, disability and social isolation. The charity does this through providing music therapy to people across the UK, whilst also training the music therapists of the future and funding research to measure and improve the impact of its work.

Story

I’m running the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London on Sunday 8 October 2017 for music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins.

Nordoff Robbins music therapists are skilled musicians who have a thorough understanding of the challenges faced by the people they work
with
e.g. children and adults with learning difficulties, autism or dementia, or those going through neurological rehabilitation or palliative care.

“Music therapy brings people to life, just by picking up an instrument and joining together in music it helps to heal people, whatever pain or trauma or problem you have been through, it can help. You can be yourself, without judgement and that is what I love about it."
