Story
On 8thJune 2022, eleven friends, between the ages of 63 and 24 and of varying ability will launch themselves and their canoes into the Ivel Navigation in Clifton in Bedfordshire, where the majority of them all live. They will join the Great Ouse near Tempsford in Bedfordshire with the aim of paddling to Kings Lynn on the North Norfolk coast – approximately 80 miles, over a period of four days. They will be out on the water for 9 to 11 hours a day to make the distances whilst having 24 portages around locks and weirs and “get outs” for strategic break stops to refuel along the length of the route. The team will be supported by a solid ground crew throughout the challenge who will be meeting us at points on the route.
The paddling team are: Ian Saunders, Steve Nott, Neil Blannin, Jules Boothby, “Taff” Morgan,Tom Saunders, Jason Shacklock, Adam Nott, Liam Panton, Rob Cook and Neil Panton.

Please support their efforts by donating whatever you can in aid of their chosen charity ‘Movember’ - Globally recognised, Movember is focused on improving support for the ever-increasing number of men affected by mental health issues, prostate or testicular cancer.
A number of the participants have been affected directly or indirectly by these issues at one time or another and we know that a number more are likely to be affected during their lives.
Our fathers, partners, brothers and friends are facing a health crisis, yet it’s rarely talked about. Men are dying too young. We can’t afford to stay silent. Movember are the leading charity changing the face of men’s health. They know what works for men – and what doesn’t. Prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention – Movember have been taking them all on. Since 2003, Movember has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, and shaking up men’s health research.
