Bupa Great North Run 2011 · 18 September 2011 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Hello again everyone

It is that time again....the time when I ask you to sponsor me to inflict pain on my knees, shins, feet etc. so that I can reward my chosen charity.

Why do I do it? This is the time where I am supposed to tell you of the exhilaration you feel from pushing your body to extremes; the healthy glow you feel from exercising.......actually it's pure vanity (& northern tightness!)

The simple truth is....

Stop running = Expanding waistline = New wardrobe in trousers!

So the pain continues!!

I am running again for The Stroke Association - a charity that is close to my heart (both my grandmothers suffered strokes in their later years) and cannot stress how much good work this charity does, both in the local community and in raising awareness in the national media of how to recognise strokes early.

PLEASE DONATE WHAT YOU CAN - THANKYOU.
