Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
At the end of March it will be two years since we lost my Mum, Pauline Driver, to Pancreatic Cancer. This disease is still the most deadly form of cancer as by the time it is detected it is usually too late to save the patient, and it sadly becomes all about how long they will survive, and so how much time they have theft with their family.
Still only around 3% of people diagnosed will survive 5 years. Mum fought really hard and managed to reach 17 months after diagnosis, but she suffered terribly at the end. It really is a horrible disease, and regularly takes people like Mum who are fit and healthy, and really look after their bodies.
Lorraine and I are running the London 10k Run again in May for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund as we believe that through research, they will find ways to detect the disease earlier and give those sufferers a better chance of survival.
We would be extremely grateful if you would please consider sponsoring us through our Just Giving page, and help us achieve our target of £1000. Any amount of donation no matter how small will help and will be very gratefully received.
Thank you very much.
Neil & Lorraine xx
