Riding from Lands End to John O Groats (LEJOG) has been something that I have wanted to do since I was a boy! Now that I am retired I thought that I should just get on and do it!

So, on the 2nd September I set off, with my pal Barny, to cycle over a 1000 miles from the southern most point of the UK to the most Northerly point, John O Groats. We are taking just over 2 weeks, with one full rest day in the middle, staying in a variety of accommodation, from B&B, to hotels, to yurts! We will have a driver, (Barny's wife!) but no support with bike maintenance or food en route, so pretty much self supported.

I have chosen Cancer Research UK as the generic Cancer charity, as so many of our friends and family have been affected by this cruel disease. With research, comes better treatment, and more cures, for more types of Cancer!
