London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·

Newbury Soup Kitchen hold drop in sessions feeding the rough sleepers, homeless & vulnerable in our area. Providing all round support. Working to expand into a building of our own to open all week. We help support where we can to improve people's lives & situation. Giving people back their dignity.

Story

I first met Meryl and her team in 2021 and managed to raise funds for Newbury Soup Kitchen by taking part in the local Triathlon. This year I have decided to go one better by doing, in my opinion, the ultimate challenge and running the London Marathon.

As some of you may know I am not particularly fit currently and this will take a huge effort on my part to get my body in a position to take on the 26 grueling miles so please dig deep in your pockets.

Homelessness in England is predicted to jump by a third by 2024 councils warn of a “tidal wave” of need caused by benefits freezes, soaring food & energy bills & the end of Covid eviction bans. It is widely spoken about in the news that food banks are being accessed in record numbers. Meryl and her team do amazing work so if you can please find it in your heart to give whatever you can I will be hugely appreciative.

Thanks in advance for your support.
