This year I am running the London marathon again - quite a few years since the last time - to raise money for a charity that is very close to my heart, Hemihelp, now part of Contact.

Contact is a charity that provides advice, guidance and support to families with disabled children. There are more than one million disabled children in the UK, and sadly most will face discrimination and inequalities across many areas of their lives. 

Amongst other things, it continues the work of Hemihelp, which provides support to children and families living with Hemiplegia, a symptom that happens because of brain injury and involves paralysis of one side of the body. 

The Hemihelp community was the best source of support and information when Kate and I were learning about the condition that affects our eldest son, Harvey, and how we might best support him in the future. Like many charities, it continues to face precarious financial challenges. 

Any funds you are able to donate will be greatly appreciated, especially by families and children who are not so fortunate as mine.

Being the great firm that it is, my employer, Schroders, will double any donations made.
