Neonatal Walk 2014 · 14 November 2014

We support families & staff on the Neonatal Unit at Kings Mill and SCBU at Bassetlaw Hospital, through the provision of Welcome Packs, bus tokens, meal vouchers, sibling bags and in many other practical ways for families. We also fund additional staff training where this is not provided by the NHS.

Story

Craig Stinson has organised a walk around 7 neonatal units in the East Midlands area (King's Mill, Nottingham City, QMC, Glenfield, Leicester Royal, Royal Derby & Chesterfield Royal) to raise awareness for World Prematurity Day.  The walk is taking place from 14th -17th November and in total is approximately 130 miles!  Craig and all those taking part will be taking items to the units that they have requested. Myself, Jude, Sarah & Matthew are joining in with the first leg of the journey (approximately 17.5 miles) and are being sponsored to raise money for the Emily Harris Foundation.

Clare and her husband, Neil, set up this charity after Emily, their first daughter, died, and they wanted to support the work of the unit and provide help for other families.  They have always been grateful to the many supporters who have raised money over the years and Clare feels it's time to put on her walking boots and join in!  She is very grateful to be getting some additional support and will be pushing Emily's youngest sister in the pushchair along the way!!
