NEPAL TREK 2010 · 29 October 2010

We are one of the oldest Samaritans branches in the country; we took our first call in 1963 and have been providing emotional support to people in Guildford, Woking and Waverley, and across the country ever since. Call us for free on 116 123 or email jo@samaritans.org.

Story

Jack (husband) and I plus 16 other Samaritans or spouses from other parts of the U.K. are taking part in a 12 day trek in Nepal at the end of October.  I would like to take this opportunity to raise some much needed money for the local Guildford branch of the Samaritans (for information who and what we are and do, go to www.samaritans.org/guildford).  I have been involved in this charity for more than 5 years as a volunteer.  We do not receive any grants from the government, nobody in our branch gets paid and over £40,000 per annum is needed to run the Guildford centre.  Of course we are paying for all our own expenses of the trip.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
