RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

10 days without copious mugs of tea, cider, squash, or even fizzy drinks with the sneaky rum mixed in.

Their lifeboat crews and lifeguards know all about staying strong. They do it every day – dropping everything to go out on the water and save lives. Your support will help me stay strong too, so please give as much as you can. Thank you.

Can I have your attention please.

You've all seen the horrid news recently with the RNLI busy rescuing people across the country. We all know they're a charity and therefore need cash.

Now I'm not fit enough to run a marathon, and don't bounce well enough to jump from a plane. So I'm joining in the H2 0nly challenge. Its 10 days drinking only Yorkshires finest tap water. Its not exactly the most exciting / embarrassing thing for you to watch me do BUT ...

According to Facebook I have 181 friends (shocker) and 28 followers. If you all donated £4.60 we'd raise enough money to kit out one volunteer lifeguard (prices based on the display at the National Emergency Services Museum: if you haven't seen it yet: come visit!). £4.60 is roughly two coffees at Costa Coffee.

Thank you!
