Nerve Tumours UK provides support and information, as well as campaigns and raises awareness on behalf of over 26,500 people in the UK who have NF, the group name for Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1), NF2-related-Schwannomatosis (NF2) and Schwannomatosis (SWN).

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My 15 year old niece is suffering from a genetic condition called neurofibromatosis (NF1) which causes tumours to form on nerve tissue. Her case is very aggressive and her scan picture shows the ones attached around her spine, this in turn is squashing her stomach and other organs making eating painful and limited and ultimately causing her low weight (often mistaken for anorexia) whilst she awaits surgery for a large tumour to be removed from her Head and whilst I can’t pysically do anything to help her, I wanted to do something to raise money and awareness, she is amazing in that all she has to go through with hospital visits and scans that she remains so chirpy and still puts others before her. So here we are, 20 of us are taking part in a 3 day kayak challenge covering 65 miles from Oxford to Windsor. We are all starting training, whatever the weather, so this is going to be a tough challenge.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity. We are raising funds for the Neuro Foundation that invest research into NF1 and support families with NF1 sufferers and also invest in education schools and organisations alike.
