Story

Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit this Just Giving page.

I have been running with my friends David and Helen for the last 8 months now and I have learnt a lot- the duck run for tackling puddles and the form fitting Lycra that won’t be making it into my running wardrobe, all courtesy of David’s faster pace.

The biggest lesson I learnt from David and Helen is the power of the human spirit to endure in the darkest of times. Their baby boy, Lochlan, was born with a heart condition which tragically brought a premature end to his short but precious life at 4 months of age. During this time they were supported by the Scottish association of children with heart disorders.

In honour of Lochlan’s memory and in tribute to the strength and courage of his parents, David and Helen, I am hoping to raise funds for this organisation by running the Edinburgh half marathon on the 24th of May 2020. The work they do is truly inspirational, their support during those precious days allows cherished memories to form, and these in turn sustain the families that are utterly bereft by their loss and experience.

Please give what you can to support this invaluable cause. Any donation, no matter how small, helps and is received gratefully.

Thank you.
