Story
This year I am running the Great North Run to raise money for PAPYRUS, a charity focused on preventing young suicide and supporting people who are struggling.
Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK and every year over 1,800 young people take their life. With your support, PAPYRUS can provide confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINE247.
With your help, each £15 raised contributes to a 30-minute call on the HOPELINE247 helpline. I've come a long way to be here, although I’m still not sure my dodgy legs are fully on board with the 13.1 miles yet – but even if this helps at least one person, I know that it's worth every step.
I’m living proof that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, even if you can’t see it at the time. Every donation made, link shared or conversation you have with a mate means more than you think.
Anything at all is massively appreciated – Thank you.
