Story
Laura and Carl are joining Superwoman Kirsty (aka Mrs OhmyCakery) in her challenge to run 5km every day in September to raise money to buy a new wheelchair for Neve (Kirsty's daughter).
We appreciate every penny you can donate to spur us on as we complete the challenge of 5km everyday in September.
It won't be fast but it will be done!
Why we are fundraising...
Over the years the wheelchairs provided by the NHS have been great for her but as she has grown, developed, had operations, Neve has become increasingly uncomfortable making it virtually impossible do get out of the house to enjoy life. We always said that once things start to impact her quality of life that we would do everything we can to provide the best for her.
A wheelchair is THE most important piece of equipment to a child like Neve, it’s what they use the most, it wasn’t until speaking to a private company that we realised the incredible things that could be available to her which would never be an option on the NHS. Neve really can struggle to regulate her body temperature and one of the things discussed was a 3d printed air system built in to her seat……our minds were completely blown!!
But these thing are obviously really expensive and we have to also consider that after the warranty runs out it’s up to us to financially look after the chair. It is estimated that the initial cost of the chair will be £6000.
