Story

Andy MacNab’s Memorial Challenge 2023
in support of Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA)

Andy MacNab’s passion for cycling was obvious to everyone who ever met him. For several decades he helped, supported and promoted cycling as member of New Brighton Cycling Club (NBCC) and later as Club Secretary and Runs Leader. Andy was also keen to encourage youngsters to take up and enjoy cycling. Along with other members he became involved in Under 16s GO Ride training and with other clubs in the NW, riding the track at Manchester Velodrome.

Andy was diagnosed with MND in May 2020 and Sadly passed away in December 2020. During his illness Andy & Lorna were greatly supported by their loving family and the MNDA.

Andy’s family and friends are keen to raise awareness and funding for the MNDA through a memorial cycling challenge. We are looking for volunteers to nominate themselves or a team of friends / club members to undertake one the following challenges:
1.    A: 5000 miles* in 2023 INDIVIDUAL challenge
2.    B: 5000 miles in 2023 RELAY challenge
3.    C: 2500 miles in 2023 RELAY challenge
4.    D: 2500 miles in 2023 INDIVIDUAL challenge

*All previous trips and miles from January 2023 will count!
