Marathon Row and Newbury CrossFit · 7 September 2019

Victoria's Promise supports young women aged 25-50, and their families, through cancer and beyond. Our VP App offers nationwide peer support. We also provide In-Person Support & Service for those diagnosed/treated at hospitals in Basingstoke, Winchester, and Frimley.

Story

On Saturday 7th September 4 teams and 2 individuals will be taking part in a gruelling rowing challenge. They will be rowing a whole marathon, 26 miles (42,195 metres).

Newbury CrossFit are taking part in this event to support Victoria's promise because they are an incredible charity that support young women and their families. Offering personalised support and treatment services during extremely challenging times and treatment. Alongside CrossFit Aldermaston, Reading and Maidenhead we are hoping to raise £8000 in total. Here are some of the things the money will help to support:

  • £28 pays for a families house to be cleaned
  • £35 pays for an oncology massage
  • £50 pays for a counselling session for one of our VIPs, their partner or child
  • £10,000 pays for monthly affinity workshops for one year
The money aside, your efforts will also promote the support and services VP offer to young women and their families through the challenges of cancer treatment.
