Building Futures East charity have been running for over 13 years supporting community development in the east end of Newcastle. We're based in Walker ward which is one of the most deprived wards in the North East and people we support overcome many challenges on a daily basis. Even before the crisis, 42% of residents in Walker struggled to access food and 1/3 of the population live with long-term health conditions or disabilities. Families in Newcastle are struggling to make ends meet during the crisis. Since the coronavirus hit, we have opened an emergency food bank delivering parcels directly to people in need. We need your help to keep the project going.
