Hi! We are Newcastle University Mechanical Engineering society and our aim until 14th May is to get to Berlin, in order to raise money for Rape Crisis.

How are we going to get to Berlin you ask? Well due to Corona hanging around, we're not actually going to get to go in person. Instead, we are going to run, cycle, walk, jog, horse ride and swim our way there! All whilst raising money for a brilliant cause!

We are getting as inventive as we possibly can with ways of transporting ourselves there, why not give us an idea, donate a fiver and we will try it! It could be as silly as hula hooping around our gardens!

Rape Crisis is a charity close to our hearts in the Mechanical Engineering Society. We have seen firsthand how their help has saved countless people from the torment of their abusers, both physically and mentally.

Rape Crisis is a feminist organisation that supports the work of different Rape Crisis centres across England and Wales. They also raise awareness and understanding of sexual violence and abuse in all its forms. They provide frontline specialist independent and confidential services for women and girls of all ages who've experienced any form of sexual violence, at any times in their lives. Last year alone Rape Crisis provided over 650,000 sessions of counselling, advocacy and support, with their work getting even more important during the pandemic with victims trapped in homes with their abusers and women having the space to come to terms with what they've experienced and needing extra help.
