Somerton Capital Appeal · 13 November 2012

At Northern Ireland Hospice, we care for more than 4,000 babies, children and adults with life-limiting illnesses, both in Hospice and in the community. We look after every patient's nursing, medical, social, spiritual and emotional needs with support for their family continuing into bereavement.

Story

Our Hour of Need

Somerton House opened almost 30 years ago and back then Hospice cared for 98 people. Today, we provide end of life care for over 3,000 people each year from across Northern Ireland. However, time has taken its toll on the hospice building and with it’s crumbling walls, rising damp and leaking roof, Somerton House is no longer fit for purpose.

For Northern Ireland Hospice to continue providing the best possible care for patients and their families we need your help to rebuild Somerton House. Please donate whatever you can afford to buy a brick and help make this happen.

The new Hospice will make such a difference to patients and families. Eighteen single, en-suite bedrooms with modern facilities will provide patients and families with more space, comfort, dignity and privacy. It will also allow Northern Ireland Hospice to care for people with a much wider range of illnesses including chronic respiratory disease and dementia.

Hospice is a vital part of our society and this really is our Hour of Need. Please support this very special appeal by donating whatever you can afford and buy a brick for the new Hospice.
