Story

Luke Newman is the founder of ‘For Men To Talk’, a men’s peer support group. In May 2024, He will be returning to one of the poorest suburbs of Nakuru, Kenya for his ninth humanitarian trip to help three schools in need of support and 100’s of children that would love nothing more than time and attention and a chance of a better education.

He will assist with teaching, help to develop teaching styles and curriculum, help with the feeding programme at the school, construct new classrooms and much, much more.

Luke needs to raise money which goes towards funding the trip and to the school in Kenya. Also, a small percentage of the money raised goes towards Derby County Community Trust which will help sustain their Disability Program which delivers tailored, inclusive sessions throughout Derbyshire for children and adults with physical and mental disabilities.

On Sunday 21 April 2024, a number of ‘For Men To Talk’ attendees and Luke will amble along country lanes and power up and over hills, to complete 26.2 miles as part of the TCS London Marathon MyWay. This is after 12 weeks of training. All have kindly offered to raise funds in supporting Luke’s humanitarian trip. If you can donate any money, we would be very grateful no matter how big or small.
