Calcutta Rescue works to make life better for people living in the slums and on the streets of Kolkata. We provide free medical care for poor people, free education for their children, and skills training to help them to become self-reliant.

Calcutta Rescue provides free education, healthcare and nutritional support to 300 children at school no 1 in Kolkata, India. These children live in slum accommodation commonly consisting of a plastic sheet and bamboo sticks by the side of the road. Calcutta Rescue has rented the building since the 1970's- a building with little natural light or space for the 300 enrolled students. We believe these children should have a place to learn that maximises the possibility of building a better future. Please help us buy a new school building- changing the lives of hundreds of children in the process.
