Fundraising for Glass Door
Story
As part of our school curriculum, we want to serve our local community in whatever way we can! In this event we aim to serve the homeless in our area.
We have decided to run our very own sponsored SleepOut on Friday 14th October. We hope to raise £10,000 in this act. During this time we will give up the comfort of our own homes to endure the experience of sleeping rough. Our funds will be donated to the homeless community via GlassDoor Charity. We are really fortunate to have this life and go to Newton Prep and we feel passionate about understanding the experience of a homeless person and offering our support.
We want to support our local charity GlassDoor - GlassDoor runs London’s largest emergency winter night shelter network, providing a safe, warm place to sleep for up to 170 men and women a night in partnership with churches across West London. Year-round, men and women with nowhere else to turn can find drop-in centres during the day and the support they need to end their homelessness. GlassDoor night shelters save lives, and the support services help change lives.
