Story
Well we did it! We are so excited to have completed our Brecon Beacons challenge in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity!
Sarah Brown, Pete Leckie, Lisa Ellams, Steve Beakhust and Vicky Brown completed the 10-mile Horseshoe Ridge Walk – taking in Corn Du (873m), Pen y Fan (886m), Cribyn (795m) and Fan y Big (719m) on 13 May!
The weather was amazing, the scenery spectacular, and the whole experience was pretty awesome! And we all managed to complete the challenge with no injuries (other than maybe a few blisters and at least one bruised toenail!).
A massive heartfelt thanks to all of you given generously to help us exceed our target of £1,000! Every penny raised will go towards helping firefighters, fire and rescue support staff and their families to access the very best physical rehabilitation and mental health and well-being support, in response to a range of different injuries and challenges.
We are so grateful (and we know the charity is too) for every penny we raise, so thanks for visiting our page and our sincere appreciation for your kind donations. Our page will be open for the next few weeks, so if there's anyone you know who would want to support our challenge and the work of The Fire Fighters Charity, please share the link.
We had a range of different levels of experience and abilities in the group, and have been supporting each other both in preparation, and during the challenge itself. We all feel a huge sense of personal achievement, teamwork, support for each other and achieving a shared goal - all things that could easily be applied to the work of the charity and what they aim to achieve with each and every beneficiary.
So again, thank you for your kind donations that will go directly to helping The Fire Fighters Charity to continue its fantastic work which is so valuable to our UK fire and rescue family.
