The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) is farming’s oldest charity working across England and Wales. Our aim is that no-one from the farming community should face adversity alone. We provide tailored advice, access to counselling, practical and financial support, and so much more.

Story

During my year as chairwoman of the NFYFC, I am challenging every Young Farmers' Club in England and Wales to raise £150 for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI).

RABI is 150 years old this year, and to mark this anniversary, with your help, I want to give something back to this charity which has supported so many farming families. As members of Young Farmers' Clubs, I know you will come up with loads of innovative ways to raise £150 per club for RABI, and have tons of fun doing it.

There are also plenty of other chances to join events up and down the country, including the anniversary race day at Ludlow in April; London 10k road run in July; an anniversary challenge in Dorset in September and, of course, Welly Week in October.

YFCs up and down the country are getting organised, with lots planned to coincide with the annual convention in Torquay. Kent YFC members are cycling there and hoping to raise £2,000 for RABI on the way, and national president Lionel Hill will be wandering around in his wellies throughout the weekend to do his bit for the cause.

Keep up with all the latest news on the NFYFC website at www.nfyfc.org.uk and don't forget to let NFYFC know what you have planned so it can be shared with everyone in the federation.

Good luck!
Helen Roberts, NFYFC chairwoman 2010.
