For those that didn’t make it on Friday – two unbelievable things happened. No, Chris was not judged to have grown a beard in 7 days… that just would not be realistic.

The first unbelievable thing that happened was that total number of pledges reached phenomenal £525. Therefore, following the inevitable landslide vote that Chris Lamont was not in possession of a bead, he will be generously donating that amount to our Charity of the Year.

The second unbelievable thing that happened was that Sue came up with the brilliant idea that everyone who made a pledge should still pay their pledge to the charity, which everyone agreed to do so in the room. Assuming that everyone who wasn’t able to attend also agrees to that idea, this means the total raised for our Charity of the Year is a whopping:

£1050!

This is an incredible achievement. We would like to extend a huge thanks to Chris – what he might lack in facial hair, he more than makes up for in generosity, stubborn competitiveness and being an all-round good sport, all of which made a simple drunken bet turn into a fantastic result for charity. We would also like to thank everyone who made a pledge and helped make The Chris Lamont Charity Beard-Off Bonanza the success it has been.
