Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides the highest quality specialist palliative care for the people of Chester and surrounding areas.  It is facing a funding crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic.  Without urgent support, the hospice will run out of money in a matter of months: see https://hospiceofthegoodshepherd.com/ for more details.

I was training to run 100km ultra marathons in Spain and Italy this year, but with these events postponed I am focusing my running a little closer to home.  At the end of March I set myself the challenge to run #everysinglestreet of Chester.  I would like to support the Hospice of the Good Shepherd through my running challenge.

I'm careful to follow social distancing advice on every run.  I usually run alone and early in the morning, but I've been joined by my 10 year old daughter Violeta on shorter runs.

5 weeks in I've run 352.2km; I'd estimate I am about 60% completed.  The challenge has been a real eye opener and I've discovered new and interesting corners of the city I've lived in for 11 years.  A highlight so far has been joining the first Clap for the NHS while running up Sandy Lane - a familiar climb for all Chester marathoners!
