We provide specialist palliative care to those facing a life limiting illness

Story

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit our JustGiving Page!

We're staff members from North Hertfordshire College's Sport and Public Services team who are taking on the National 3 Peaks Challenge in June 2020 to help raise vital funds for the amazing charity Garden House Hospice Care.

Garden House Hospice Care is NHCs 2019/2020 Charity of the Year. The charity provides specialist palliative care for patients, families and carers facing life limiting illnesses, to enable them to have the best possible quality of life by providing care and support in the setting of their choice, without discrimination.

The National 3 Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles and the total ascent is 3064 metres...wish us luck!

 To give you an idea as to what your money goes towards, some examples include:

- £27 pays for an hour's health care for patients in the community
- £46 pays for patients to attend activities in the Hawthorne centre
- £53 per day to provide clean bedding and towels for patients
- £389 to provide a bed in the inpatient unit per day

Any support is hugely appreciated by all of us and we can't thank you enough!

Love;

Lizzie, Georgie, Tom, Chris, George and Ryah x
