Creative Writers is raising money for Chums Charity

Creative Writing Magazine · 22 June 2021

CHUMS is a Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Service for children and young people in Bedfordshire. We support children who have been bereaved, traumatised or suffer with other mental health difficulties. With the right support we can help build resilience and give them hope for the future.

Story

Any problems with the download just email khatley@nhc.ac.uk - mention Chums fundraising and a copy will be emailed back.

A group of creative writers carried out twenty weeks of learning at North Herts College during lockdown 2020 and beyond into 2021 and wanted to use some of the work produced to benefit the local charity Chums. After donating you receive a thank you email with a link to the E-Zine download page.

Please support this fantastic charity - all amount add up to help.

Trigger warnings:  the link is for an online magazine produced by adults for adults. It contains strong language from page one onwards, adult themes – bereavement, child loss, sexual violence, bullying, mental health issues, parenting, covid, dementia and meat-eating. Each piece of work was born from individual, personal experiences and would like to be read as respectful and sensitive to difficult subject matter, even where humour is applied!

The work has been distributed with the hope of raising important
funds for the local charity CHUMS but is in no way affiliated or produced in connection with the charity itself. It was a collective agreement that they were a cause the learners wanted to recognise, highlight and support. Thank you in advance.

CHUMS

CHUMS hopes to provide mental health and emotional wellbeing support to as many children and young people across Bedfordshire as we can. Friends of CHUMS currently funds 5 services which include the Bedfordshire Suicide Bereavement Service, Babyloss Service and Recreational Therapeutic Service. Without support from fundraisers and donors CHUMS would not be able to provide support to the children, young people and families who otherwise may not receive help when they need it most.
