Story
This half term is Year 9's charity turn to raise money for our chosen charity, the one we have chosen as a year group is BEAT. This is a charity that assists those who either have an eating disorder or those who have suffered with one in the past. Recently, in the media people have become more aware about eating disorders in general but still need greater awareness.
So, what can you do to help? Right now, eating disorder charities receive less than 1% of all money raised for mental health research globally, we don't feel this is right. In the world right now, there are 7.8 billion people in total, and it is estimated that 9% of them will experience an eating disorder of some kind in their life, which is around 702 MILLION people. We want to do what we can at NHEHS to help a charity that supports these people.
We have a few plans including an Among Us tournament, a Parents and Teachers Quiz and a collective Year 9 fundraising attempt to run, walk or cycle to the Beat Head Office in Norfolk and back - 235miles.
