Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Tumours are Cancer and its like living with a monster. in my case its in my Brain.
Brilliant NHS John Radcliffe, Oxford, consultant Mr. S J Griffiths and his registrar Dr. D Wright removed a Glioblastoma Multiforme Grade 4 (as bad as it gets) Primary Brain Tumour from my right temporal lobe on 29 Apr 2016. The histology, a study of the microscopic structure of tissues, indicated that the cancer which created the tumour is an aggressive form, known in the business as "the terminator" because it cannot be eradicated and the patient is never in remission. 95% die within 2y, 4.9% die within 5y and 0.1% survive 8 or more annual craniotomies (tumour excision).
My supportive Oncologist Dr Nicola Warner, NHS Churchill Hospital, Oxford, helped me through 30 days of radiotherapy and monthly chemo regime to kill any further cancerous cells. I have MRI scans every 3 months for early signs of regrowth. 15 months after my first craniotomy (resection) new growth showed up and Brilliant NHS John Radcliffe, Oxford, consultant Mr Apostolopoulos cut it out on July 30th 2017. its likely these brilliant guys and gals will continue to cut these beasts out of my head every year or so, that's a great investment to buy time, and I am extremely grateful to the NHS and its employees who dedicate themselves to prolonging my life..
I’m making the most of what I have, I have supportive family and friends, I have less money worries than most and I golf at least twice a week. So no worries, I just keep fighting this evil bastard.
If you would like to help fight with me for others please support Cancer Research and perhaps join my social media crusades to save our NHS. We need to export NHS globally.
