Change Mental Health wants to build a future where no one needs to face mental illness alone. We seek to change society by changing attitudes, fighting stigma and influencing government to ensure a better quality of life for those affected by mental illness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am competing in the New Year’s Day triathlon in Edinburgh. It involves a 400 metre swim in the commonwealth pool followed by stepping out into the freezing cold and cycling 3 laps of Arthur’s seat followed by running a lap of Arthur’s seat. It is more or less a triathlon sprint.

Over the last couple of years I have become a keen triathlete and my training regime typically is three runs, two swims and two bike sessions every week. I compete in all distances from sprint to half Ironman.

Support In Mind Scotland helps people with serious mental health issues and is a cause I support wholeheartedly. A charity which aims to relieve this kind of suffering has to be a good thing and that is why I am doing this triathlon to make money for them.
