Breakwater Swim 2021 (4km) · 15 August 2021

The Chestnut Appeal for Men's Health fundraises for nurses, equipment and treatment, as well as providing, awareness campaigns on prostate cancer, the most common cancer in men, right across Devon and Cornwall. We also raise awareness of testicular cancer and penile cancer in our communities.

Story

I have loved the water for as long as I can remember! Swimming in open water makes me feel free and positive.  I have been swimming Open Water events now since 2018.

The chance to swim this event is a special privilege for me as I dedicate this to my Grandad Doug who is once again, fighting Prostate Cancer for the second time since 2017.

The Breakwater Swim is an organised event specifically for Men's Health Charity fundraising and this year I am lucky enough to be able to join in and be part of it.

Please read below how the Chestnut Appeal can help our family members; Dads, Grandads, brothers and uncles etc...

The Chestnut Appeal-

Raising awareness is at the heart of everything we do, as well as this, with funds raised by YOU, we support our hospitals by purchasing the very latest equipment and treatments that perhaps aren’t available in the region. We have a unique geography, so our work is often unique, to help more men than ever before, we’re also building an online community, reaching more men in the community who need help and support during and after their cancer treatments. ‬We want men and their families to know that we’re here for as long as you need us!
