Story

Pink Events is a Leeds based breast cancer charity who have not only raised £160,000 to buy specialist equipment for the Breast Care Unit at St James' and donated over £79,000 to Cancer Research UK though their hard work fundraising; but also post monthly reminders educating people on the importance of checking for signs and symptoms.

The charity was created as a result of Kim being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, however 4 years later her sister Sarah and their mum Maureen had also been diagnosed. Despite all three of them having breast cancer at some point, their continued efforts ensured that they were able to make Pink Events a successful charity undeterred by their treatment which led to them each making a recovery.

However, unfortunately only last week Kim was diagnosed with a  new breast cancer and has recently undergone an operation and will receive ongoing treatment through to next year. Due to this, Pink Events have decided to cancel all events for this year so she can focus on her recovery. Therefore I would like to do what I can to make sure they can still fundraise this year and continue to help in the battle against breast cancer. So, I will be running the Yorkshire Marathon on the 20th October (even if I have to crawl to the finish line) and would really appreciate any donations, no matter how small, for such a deserving charity.

Thank you in advance for any donations you can make and I wish Kim a speedy recovery xxx
