Niamhs Everest Challenge Β· 18 April 2020

We are the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board. We raise and distribute funds to enhance our local NHS services, supporting the health, wellbeing and experience of patients, service users and staff across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.

Story

My name is Niamh, I am 8 years old.

I want to do something good during lockdown to raise money for the NHS. I live in Carmarthen so am raising money for Hywel Dda Health Charities.

I wanted to take on a really hard challenge. I have climbed Pen-y-fan before but never climbed a bigger mountain. I hope to go to Everest for real one day, but during lockdown I am going to climb it on my stairs at home. It is 58,070 steps, which is 3871 flights of stairs. I am only counting when I go upstairs, not downstairs. I will complete this challenge in 1 month, so I have to do at least 2074 stairs a day which is about 138 flights of stairs. I think my legs will ache by the end!!

Thank you for sponsoring me :-)

Thank you NHS

love Niamh
