Nicola Tusa - London Marathon 2022

London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 2nd October 2022 I will be running the London Marathon in support of The Little Ted Foundation.
Our wonderful friends, Jess & Lee, set up TLTF following the loss of their beautiful baby boy, Ted, to cancer in April 2022 at just 16 months old.
The aim of the charity is to provide fully funded getaways in Snowdonia, Wales, for families with a seriously ill child and bereaved families following the loss of a child. The charity also provides financial grants to help with the costs associated with having a seriously ill child in hospital.
I am extremely honoured to also be a trustee for the charity.
TLTF is so very close to my heart as Jess is my oldest friend. With her having already had two wonderful older boys, we never imagined that we would find ourselves pregnant at the same time in 2020 as Matt and I were growing our family with our second child on the way. Ted was born in December that year and my little boy, Wilfred, followed soon after in February 2021. Having been friends almost our whole lives, it felt like fate that we had two little boys together at the same time.
Despite Ted’s cancer diagnosis at just 9 months old, I am so lucky that Wilf and I have some lovely memories of spending time together with Jess and Ted during his so cruelly short life. On a personal note, Ted will forever be my little Wilfred’s first best friend.
Whilst I have ran to keep fit for years, this definitely dwindled since having my children and I am by no means a marathon runner ordinarily! I have been quietly following a beginners training programme for the past few months and have finally found the confidence to set up my page, so there is no going back now!
I will absolutely do my very best on the day and want to raise as much as I possibly can to support this wonderful charity. I have set my initial target at £550 as this amount will provide both a funded holiday for one family and a hospital grant for another.
Thank you so much for reading this and for sharing and supporting my cause if you are able to.
