NICE 35 Challenge · 14 March 2022 to 17 April 2022 ·
Three of us are working at the Pre-School Services within our Children's Department. Our speciality is to help children’s holistic development with the main focus on their physical progress. At the same time we advise parents and the extended family on how they can support their children’s continuous development in their own home environment.
The Pre-School Team at NICE-Centre for movement disorders are so excited to take part in the charity first ever Anniversary Challenge – the 35 Challenge. We are so proud of being a part of this amazing charity which has progressed, flourished and supported over 9000 families throughout the past 35 years.
We decided to set up 35 different challenges and will complete them between Monday 14th March – the start of Conductive Education Awareness Week – and Friday 8th April. We will do similar activities that we set up for our children, targeting gross and fine motor skills, strength and stamina. Of course, targets were set appropriately challenging. Some of them will be hard, a few of them will be extremely difficult and some will be fun. A good selection of activities; just like how we are planning our sessions for children. Some of our activities will be done only by conductors and sometimes we will invite parents to take part… in line with how we run our sessions.
The last day of the series of our 35 Challenge will be a Family Fun Day. We invite the families to join to our extended NICE family and we give them a fantastic and not unrepeatable opportunity to throw water balloons at the conductors.
With our project, we are planning to raise money for our charity, which support children and adults with movement disorders and which gives free support for children between 6 months and 5 years old. Also we wish to further spread the news of Conductive Education and the legendary method that we believe in and that has helped so many people throughout its 35 years existence in the UK to overcome their everyday challenges and to become an active member of their societies.
Please sponsor us and get your friends and family to support our good cause too. Every little bit helps!
Thank you for your support and see you on our Family Fun Day,
Erika, Lucy and Megan
P.S. Yes! We are dreaming of being superheroes who are changing children’s lives for better.
