Story
The Big Half is a vibrant, inclusive half marathon with an unmissable festival atmosphere! It features a stunning 13.1-mile course that sets off by Tower Bridge in central London and finishes at the famous Cutty Sark in Greenwich. Your generous donations will help the charity to continue to support serving RAF personnel, RAF veterans and their families. They benefit from a wide range of services including befriending, mental wellbeing training courses, professional childcare training for spouses, bespoke casework support, and help to secure emergency grants.
By running for #teamRAFA I will help to fund vital projects to support the RAF community of yesterday, today and tomorrow. The RAF Association's Connections for Life service for our vulnerable veterans and Mental well-being courses are just two areas where the RAF Association help the oldest to youngest of the community.
Heading into my second year at Newcastle University, studying engineering, the great north is the start of what will hopefully by a very successful academic year. As an officer cadet of the Northumbria University Air Squadron, 6FTS (NUAS) I have the opportunity to work with RAF personnel throughout the year and witness the amazing work RAFA do in supporting the RAF community. The experiences I have had access too over the past year and the new ones being opened up every week on NUAS has set me on the path to join the RAF and has meant supporting RAFA is a personal goal of mine.
