Over the past three and half years I have worked for JRS UK and played a small part in the mission to accompany, serve and advocate for refugees.

I have been blessed to meet wonderful people who have been forced to flee their homes and come to the UK in search of sanctuary. The encounter an asylum system rooted in hostility which denies many refugees legal protection. Those who find themselves refused are forced into destitution and are at risk of indefinite detention.

These are the people we accompany at JRS UK.

We offer practical assistance and pastoral support offering a place of hospitality and welcome to our refugee friends in contrast to the hostility they face elsewhere in society.
